HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
GOVERNMENT APPROVAL AND ACCREDITATIONS
The school operates as NEWWORLD EMERALD PRIVATE SCHOOL ABUJA LTD, a private company limited by shares, officially incorporated on July 7, 2021.
The company is registered under RC-1815437 and operates with a paid share capital of ₦1,000,000.
The school was started so that children can learn many new things. The founders wanted a place where boys and girls can:
- Gain knowledge to help them in life
- Grow in good behaviour and respect for others
- Develop their talents in sports, music, and arts
- Have a safe and happy place to learn every day
The school commenced full operation on September 20, 2021. The day marks the beginning of full academic activities and since inception till date, the school continues to record laudable achievements.

- the acquisition of NECO Accreditation from National Examination Council on April 14, 2024 with Center Number 0310541
- the acquisition of Cambridge International School Accreditation granted by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) – part of the University of Cambridge on November 22, 2023 with Center Number NG-566 BRITISH COUNCIL CAMBRIDGE
The acquisition of accreditations from these examination bodies implies that the school authorized to;
- register students for the WAEC examinations (WASSCE for School Candidates, or private candidates where applicable) and NECO examinations (BECE and SSCE).
- conduct the exams under WAEC or NECO supervision.
- offer Cambridge programmes (e.g., Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS & A Levels).
- register candidates for Cambridge examinations.
- use the Cambridge branding as an accredited centre.
FACILITIES
Our school was purpose-built to provide a world-class learning environment from the very beginning. Designed with excellence and long-term growth in mind, the school commenced operations with close to 90% of its facilities already in place and a clear vision for future expansion.
The school’s infrastructure reflects its commitment to quality education:
- Early Years Section: Eight purpose-built classrooms designed to foster early childhood development.
- Primary Section: Fifteen modern, fully equipped classrooms conducive to effective teaching and learning.
- Secondary Section: Seventeen spacious classrooms designed for collaborative and independent learning.
- Science and Technology: Fully equipped Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and ICT laboratories to support practical and inquiry-based learning.
- Creative Development: A standard Music Room that provides a platform for artistic expression and skill development.
- Health and Safety: A dedicated sick bay, staffed by qualified nurses, to ensure the well-being of all students.
- Sports and Recreation: Two football fields, two basketball courts, a badminton court, and an Early Years play area to promote physical development and teamwork.
- Interactive Digital Learning Facilities: all of our classrooms, laboratories, meeting and examination rooms are fully equipped with sophisticated interactive equipment; purposely customized interactive white boards and flat panels that are intended to support teaching and learning processes.
The school School Enrollment Growth Report (2021/2022 – 2025/2026 Academic Sessions)
Since its first academic session, the school has witnessed remarkable and consistent growth in enrollment, a testament to its commitment to providing quality education and holistic development for its students.
- 2021/2022 Academic Session – 136 Students:
The school commenced operations in the 2021/2022 academic session with a modest population of 136 students. At this stage, the focus was on establishing strong academic structures and creating a safe, nurturing environment for learners. - 2022/2023 Academic Session – 382 Students:
By the 2022/2023 session, enrollment had more than doubled to 382 students. This rapid growth was driven by significant investments in physical infrastructure such as modern classrooms, science and ICT laboratories, and recreational facilities. Parents were quick to recognize the value the school was offering, leading to increased referrals within the community. - 2023/2024 Academic Session – 487 Students:
In the 2023/2024 session, the population rose further to 487 students. This growth was strongly influenced by the school’s commitment to recruiting and retaining highly qualified teachers who deliver world-class teaching. Additionally, the school’s dedication to providing students with exposure to both national and international learning opportunities began to set it apart as a leading institution. - 2025/2026 Academic Session – 542 Students:
By the 2025/2026 academic session, the school reached an enrollment of 542 students. Its reputation for academic excellence, consistent outstanding performance in local and international examinations, and a track record of producing confident, globally-minded learners had begun to spread widely beyond the immediate community. The passion of the founders to maintain world-class standards has continued to attract families seeking the best for their children.
This steady rise in population underscores the school’s growing influence and reaffirms its position as a trusted and respected institution of learning, committed to shaping the next generation of leaders.

- A boarding house facility has already been secured to cater to students who require residential accommodation.
- There is ample space for the construction of additional classrooms and specialized learning centres to meet future needs.
- Planned projects include the development of a multipurpose hall for assemblies, cultural events, and indoor sports, as well as the expansion of our library into a modern digital resource centre.
